How can we help?

Email support@typeshhh.com with your iPhone, iPad, or Watch model, operating system version, app version, and a short description of what happened.

Counting and goals

How do I count or correct a round?

Tap the counting surface or + to add a round. Tap − to subtract one. The count cannot go below zero. Opening settings does not add a round.

How do I enter a goal?

Turn on Goal in Settings. On iPhone or iPad, tap the displayed number to enter any whole number from 1 to 9,999, then tap Save. Cancel leaves your goal unchanged. The plus and minus stepper handles small adjustments.

On Watch, use the goal’s plus and minus buttons, or choose Edit digits to set a large goal quickly with short lists and the Digital Crown. Goal changes apply immediately.

How do I reset a workout?

On iPhone or iPad, tap Reset above the count after counting has started. On Watch, open the counter’s … options, then Reset. Confirm to clear the session and rearm the timer with your saved settings. Cancel keeps the session running.

Countdown

How do I start or change the countdown?

Enable Countdown in Settings and choose a duration from 00:01 to 59:59. It starts automatically on your first round. Changes made after counting starts apply only after you reset, including turning Countdown off. Returning the count to zero with − does not restart the timer.

What happens when time expires?

A “Time’s up” message appears with visual and haptic feedback. If allowed, the app also schedules a local notification. A successful + or − acknowledges the alert and lets you keep counting. Expiry never locks the counter.

Reduce Motion replaces animated feedback with a still indication. On Watch, the displayed countdown catches up when you raise your wrist or reopen the app.

Why didn’t I receive a timer notification?

Allow notifications when you enable Countdown. On iPhone or iPad, check Settings → Notifications → Tap Counter, or use Open Notification Settings inside the app.

For Watch, open the Watch app on your paired iPhone, then My Watch → Notifications → Tap Counter. Enable notifications or choose Allow Notifications if shown. Focus, silent delivery, and other system notification settings can affect alerts. See Apple’s Watch notification guide.

The visible timer works without notification permission. If the app reports that it could not schedule an alert, use Retry Timer Notification on iPhone or iPad, or Countdown → Timer alerts → Check permission on Watch. Keep the app open for its on-screen alert while resolving notification settings.

Apple Watch

How do I install Tap Counter on Watch?

Update Tap Counter to version 1.1 or later. On your paired iPhone, open the Watch app, choose My Watch, find Tap Counter under Available Apps, and tap Install. You can also search for Tap Counter in the App Store on your Watch. Apple’s installation guide has step-by-step instructions.

Can I use it without my phone nearby?

Yes. Counting, goals, countdowns, settings, and saved sessions work directly on Watch. Each device keeps its own count and preferences; there is no live syncing between your Watch, iPhone, and iPad.

Where are Watch settings?

Tap … at the top of the counter and choose Settings. Goal, Countdown, Appearance, and About are available on Watch. Use the Digital Crown to move through lists and editors. Crown movement on the counter does not add rounds.

System, Light, and Dark change the Watch counter’s palette. Supported Always On displays use a simplified, dimmed view when your wrist is down; the app does not keep the screen continuously bright.

Privacy and accessibility

Does Tap Counter upload or record workouts?

No. There is no account, analytics, tracking, or cloud service. Sessions stay on each device. Tap Counter does not use HealthKit or record workouts in Apple Health or Fitness.

Does the app support VoiceOver and Reduce Motion?

Yes. Counts, timers, goals, and controls have spoken labels. Larger text is supported, and Reduce Motion limits animated feedback. On iPhone or iPad, use Settings → Accessibility. Watch accessibility settings are available on the Watch and in the paired iPhone’s Watch app.
